West Nashville Phoenix Lodge #131
May 2024 Trestleboard

From the East

Brother,

The showers of spring have returned to us the lush Tennessee greenery that I have always found so beautiful. I am reminded of our Phoenix, a symbol unique to our Lodge, and the emblematic power of rebirth and renewal it inculcates. All things in life, not just our climate, go through this same perpetual cycle of death and rebirth.

Freemasonry has had many births, deaths, and rebirths throughout her years. We now stand on the frontier of a season of rebirth, our Lodge is vigorous and strong, our members are young, our leaders are energetic, our ritual is sharp, our education is keen, and Freemasonry is alive and well in the minds of members of Lodge 131.

The beauty of the trees I see as I look out the window of the Lodge is composed of individual leaves. On their own they may go unnoticed, stepped on, disregarded. Together they create a beautiful expression of God’s intelligent design. Much like the collaboration of these leaves to create the beauty of the tree, it is only through the collaboration of us as individual Masons that the beauty of this Lodge is truly expressed.

If we keep working hard, and working together, who knows what beautiful things we are capable of? None of it will happen without hard work. Let’s keep building this Lodge into what we know it can be, something that will outlive all of us, something that will leave a lasting impression on God’s great state of Tennessee and the men who dwell therein.

If you have any ideas on ways we can improve the Lodge please email me below with your thoughts.
